Starfish Project is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to restoring hope and dignity to women and girls who have experienced exploitation and human trafficking. Through the creation and sale of ethically made jewelry and accessories, the organization provides survivors with safe employment, holistic care, and long-term support—including housing, healthcare, counseling, and education. Starfish Project’s mission is rooted in empowerment: helping survivors build sustainable, independent futures while using business as a force for social good.

MY ROLE

Consultant — 2017-2018

I initially supported the nonprofit organization as a webmaster and analytics specialist focused on improving site performance and measurement. As I quickly developed a deep understanding of the business model and mission, I expanded my role to introduce and scale paid media as a growth lever for e-commerce for the company. Throughout 2018, I led paid media efforts across Google and Meta, delivering monthly performance reporting and strategic recommendations, helping shape Starfish Project’s long-term e-commerce paid media strategy while supporting sustainable revenue growth aligned with their mission to uplift survivors of trafficking.
